Miami's WOCN-AM to be ESPN Deportes Radio on June 16ESPN Deportes Radio, the only around-the-clock national Spanish-language sports radio network in the U.S., will launch in Miami as ESPN Deportes 1450-AM on Monday, June 16. Since its launch, ESPN Deportes Radio has achieved significant milestones in the Spanish-language radio industry. In Los Angeles, the nation’s largest Hispanic market, ESPN Deportes Radio flagship station KWKW 1330-AM has enjoyed a remarkable growth in audience since launching as ESPN Deportes Radio in 2005. According to the latest Arbitron Winter 2008 Metro survey, the station’s Men 25-54 audience has doubled since launch. ESPN Deportes Radio launches in Miami with a strong line-up. In first two weeks on the air, the station will present 13 soccer matches highlighted by exclusive coverage of the UEFA European Football Championship 2008, the 2008 South American World Cup Qualifiers and MLS All Star Game, while in July, the radio network will be the exclusive Spanish-language radio home of the 79th Major League Baseball All-Star Game, being held at Yankee Stadium in its final season, July 15. ESPN Deportes Radio offers a variety of sports talk programming and events, including exclusive, national Spanish-language broadcasts of Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game, League Championship Series, and World Series, South American World Cup Qualifiers, Copa América soccer tournament, UEFA Champions League, NASCAR and much more. ESPN Deportes Radio also features sports news talk, including top-rated show Jorge Ramos y su Banda. With this new affiliate, ESPN Deportes Radio now has 26 affiliates nationwide, including nine of the top U.S. Hispanic markets. The radio network is also available nationally on SIRUS Satellite Radio.
