To see the interview, go to espnradio.com then wait for “One Small Step” to appear in the cycle of “Star Studded Event” and “NBA Finals”
ESPN Radio’s daily 6-10 a.m. ET show is simulcast on ESPN2, where viewers watched the seven crew members in their shuttle during the interview.

Groundwork for the rare radio “call in” was laid when Ham reached out to ESPN and Radio’s Mike & Mike for articles that would fit NASA’s restrictions on personal belongings he could bring on board. ESPN provided Ham a mic flag (from the set of Mike and Mike, and hollowed out to make it lighter), stickers, and two CDs (Best of Mike and Mike, with a personal introduction from Greenberg, and Best of SportsCenter).
The crew’s mission to the International Space Station is the second of three flights that will launch components to complete the Japanese “Kibo” laboratory. -- 30 -- |
