NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 5 Audience Up 63%

ESPN Most-Viewed Network (Cable & Broadcast) Among Key Male Demos
ESPN's Second Most-Viewed NBA Telecast Ever

Last night’s ESPN telecast (May 28) of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 5 between the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons was viewed in an average of 4,896,000 households, marking an increase of 63% over last year’s comparable telecast (Utah/San Antonio, Western Conference Finals, Game 5 – 3,006,000 households).  The corresponding 5.1 rating is up 59% over last year’s 3.2 rating. 

ESPN was the most-viewed network (cable and broadcast) of the night among all men (2,864,000), men 18-34 (932,000) and men 18-49 (1,672,000).  ESPN was also the most-viewed cable network among viewers (6,434,000 P2+) in prime time.

The game was ESPN’s second most-viewed NBA telecast ever (Detroit/Miami, 2006 Eastern Conference Finals, Game 5 – 5.5 rating; 4,990,000 households).
