2008 Major League Lacrosse Begins Telecasts Friday on ESPN2
11 Televised Games; 64 Games Streamed Live on ESPN360.com

Major League Lacrosse (MLL) presented by the U.S. Marine Corps returns to ESPN2 and in high definition on ESPN2 HD, Friday, May 23 at 7 p.m. ET. The 2008 telecast schedule kicks off live from Harvard Stadium when the Boston Cannons will host the Rochester Rattlers.

Each team has one win apiece in this young MLL season, with Boston coming off a win versus the New Jersey Pride and the Rattlers coming of a win over the Long Island Lizards last weekend.

Joe Beninati and Mark Dixon will call the game, while goalie cams and player microphones will give viewers an inside, intense look at the action taking place on the field. 

“Major League Lacrosse is excited to have our national games on ESPN again this season,” said MLL Director of Broadcasting Chris Day.   “We feel that having the games in high definition and the added enhancements will allow viewers to experience the game of lacrosse and appreciate the high quality of play in the MLL.”

Additionally, ESPN360.com, ESPN’s signature broadband network, will provide live streaming of all Major League Lacrosse games for the 2008 season, including 60 regular-season matchups, July’s All-Star Game, the league semifinals and the NB ZIP Championship Game. Games also will be archived and temporarily available for on-demand replay for a period of time after they are completed

ESPN2 has been the national television home of Major League Lacrosse since 2003 and in 2007, MLL and ESPN signed a multi-year agreement which extends their relationship through the 2016 season.
