National Lacrosse League Championship to Air on ESPN2 & ESPN360.com

 

The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that ESPN2 and ESPN360.com will telecast the 2008 Edge NLL Championship Game Saturday, May 17. The game will air live on ESPN360.com at 7:30 p.m. ET and tape-delayed on ESPN2, Tuesday, May 20 at 2 p.m. ET.

"The NLL features the world's best lacrosse players and we are pleased to have ESPN2 and ESPN360.com telecast the Edge NLL Championship Game and present our dynamic sport to a national audience,” said NLL Commissioner Jim Jennings.

The game will feature the top-seeded NLL East and West divisional teams, as the East Division champion Buffalo Bandits (12-6) will host the West Division champion Portland LumberJax (8-10) at HSBC Arena in Buffalo. Lead play-by-play commentator Joe Heyer will call the game along with color analyst Brian Shanahan.

"ESPN will showcase the excitement of the NLL on its grandest stage – the NLL Championship game," said Doug White, ESPN Senior Director of Programming and Acquisitions. "We are thrilled to offer this elite event to fans both live on ESPN360.com and then later on ESPN2."
