Hall of Famers on Baseball Tonight
Beginning with Wade Boggs April 13

Buck Showalter Returns to ESPN as Baseball Tonight Analyst
 

ESPN’s Baseball Tonight – the only nightly national studio show devoted solely to MLB highlights, news and information – will feature Hall of Famers as guest analysts on select Sundays throughout the 2008 season beginning with 18-year MLB veteran Wade Boggs on Sunday, April 13.  Boggs will appear on the 12:30 and 7 p.m. ET shows, leading into the Sunday Night Baseball Presented by Taco Bell telecast featuring two of his former teams – the New York Yankees (1993-97) at Boston Red Sox (1982-1992) – at 8 p.m. 

Boggs, who will offer his perspective on the New York/Boston rivalry along with instructional demonstrations and additional analysis, will be joined by host Karl Ravech at 12:30 p.m. (Chris Berman at 7 p.m.) and analysts John Kruk and Steve Phillips. In addition to Baseball Tonight, Boggs will also appear on ESPNEWS, ESPN Radio and as a Sunday Night Baseball guest from the studio.

Additional Hall of Fame players to appear on Baseball Tonight will include Juan Marichal (May 11), Phil Niekro (May 25) and Rod Carew (July 13). 

Buck Showalter Returns as Baseball Tonight Analyst

Former Major League Baseball manager Buck Showalter, a two-time American League Manager of the Year (1994, New York Yankees; 2004, Texas Rangers), will return to ESPN as a Baseball Tonight analyst.  Showalter, a Baseball Tonight analyst from 2001-02, will debut April 14 at 10 p.m. 

Showalter has 11 years of managerial experience, including the New York Yankees (1992-95), the then-expansion Arizona Diamondbacks (1998-2000), and the Texas Rangers (2003-2006). 

Baseball Tonight on ESPN

Baseball Tonight is generally televised Monday through Saturday at 10 p.m. and midnight (9 p.m. PT) and Sundays at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Karl Ravech, in his 14th season hosting the show, will be joined by a deep roster of analysts/insiders including Orestes Destrade, Peter Gammons, John Kruk, Tim Kurkjian, Buster Olney, Eduardo Perez, Steve Phillips, Buck Showalter, Chris Singleton, Fernando Vina and Eric Young.  Chris Berman and Steve Berthiaume will also serve as host.
