ESPN Radio RaceDay Going StrongEach week, ESPN Radio’s Saturday RaceDay starts its engines at 6 a.m. ET with host Pat Patterson anchored from Daytona Beach, Fla., home of NASCAR headquarters and Daytona International Speedway. Patterson also originates the broadcast from several racetracks with key races. ESPN Radio’s Saturday RaceDay listeners get an hour of news, previews and analysis, as well as profiles and interviews with NASCAR’s biggest names and newsmakers and the involvement of listeners via calls and e-mails. Additionally, ESPN’s NASCAR reporters and analysts including Rusty Wallace, Dr. Jerry Punch and Mike Massaro, contribute each week as ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN on ABC telecast the entire NASCAR Nationwide Series and the final 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup races, including the 10-race “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup” championship on ESPN on ABC. Patterson, the Saturday RaceDay host who also is known as "The Racing Guy," has been involved in motorsports for more than 25 years. He hosted and produced the television shows RaceDay, on TNN, and the nationally syndicated On Pit Road. His radio experience includes more than 20 years of calling the action on pit road for the Performance Racing Network (PRN). Patterson was named "Sprint Car Media Person of the Year" in 1992, ’93 and ’94, received the Specialty Promotions Award from Open Wheel/Stock Car Racing Magazine (1993) and was elected to the Automotive Hall of Fame Board of Directors in 1997. ESPN Radio also provides auto racing fan the comprehensive Sunday RaceDay (6-7 a.m. Sundays), which covers the auto racing world, including NASCAR and the IndyCar Series. Sunday RaceDay debuted in February 2006, and features co-host Patterson and contributor Mike King, chief announcer of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, who presents an IndyCar perspective that can only be provided from The Brickyard itself.
