Damion Potter Appointed ESPN Senior Manager of Communications for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia

Potter to be Based in ESPN’s London Office

 

Damion Potter, a British Diplomat since 2000, has joined ESPN as senior manager of communications based in the company’s London Hammersmith office. Damion will be working in the team of Katina Arnold, vice president, communications for ESPN, who is based in the U.S.

In this newly-created position, Damion will be responsible for ESPN’s international public relations work in Asia, the Pacific Rim, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"We are thrilled to have Damion join our team,” said Arnold.  “He will bring with him expertise in working with a variety of media, and his experience will bring real value and perspective to our efforts.”

Damion has a strong background in international communications. Since 2000, he has served in a variety of capacities as a diplomat in the United Kingdom’s Foreign Office. He headed up the media and public relations for the British Embassy in Stockholm (2002-2005); was the Foreign Office press officer on European issues based in London (2001); and a public relations expert for the European Union Directorate (2000). Since January 2006, Potter has been head of the Russia department where he has briefed the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary on Russia related matters.

He worked in the international television sales department of Gaumont in Paris (1997).

Damion graduated from the University of Warwick (Bachelors and Masters). He is fluent in English, French and Swedish, and also has conversational skills in German, Russian and Spanish.
