South Carolina native Wendi Nix joined ESPN in August of 2006 as a reporter and host. Her duties include reporting on college and pro football, golf and NASCAR for various ESPN programs such as SportsCenter, College Game Day, NFL Countdown and NASCAR Now. In addition, she is a host and reporter for College Football Live.
Nix came to ESPN from NBC affiliate WHDH-TV in Boston, where she spent three years as a sports anchor and reporter. Prior to joining WHDH-TV in June, 2003, she was a national sports reporter for FOXSports and an anchor-reporter for FOXSports New England for two years. She also reported and anchored for the New England Sports Network (NESN) for a year starting in 2001. Her television career began at ABC affiliate WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C., in 1999, where she covered NASCAR and high school sports in addition to news. A native of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Nix was a two-year captain of the golf team at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., where she earned degrees in French and Economics in 1996. She earned a masters degree in sports management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1997.
