Qadry Ismail joined ESPN as a football analyst in July 2004, and can be seen on NFL Live and ESPNEWS’ in-season NFL coverage. He is the featured analyst each NFL Sunday on The Blitz – ESPNEWS’ six-hour (4 - 10 p.m. ET) window of gridiron highlight and analysis.
Ismail retired from a 10-year NFL career in 2002. Selected in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Ismail played the wide receiver position for five teams – Minnesota, Miami, New Orleans, Baltimore and Indianapolis. He was Baltimore Ravens’ “go-to” wide receiver and an integral part of the team’s 2001 Super Bowl championship.
Born in Newark, N.J., Ismail attended Syracuse University where he set numerous records as a punt and kick-off returner as well as a wide receiver. In his college career, Qadry ranks among the top players in NCAA history with over 2,000 career kickoff return yards. |
