The World Salsa Championships - For Photos Click HereThe World Salsa Championships is an annual competition that showcases some of the best salsa dancers in the world. The objective of the competition is to see which couple or team can best interpret the character of salsa music. The competition was founded in 2005 by Alberto Torres, and his goal is to give recognition to the best dancers he feels has deserved it for years, and to take salsa music places it has never been before. There were 350 dancers registered from over 32 countries and 12 U.S. cities. The dancers will perform on ESPN Deportes Tuesday, May 6, and Saturday, May 10, at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. each day. |
