As the blow-by-blow broadcaster of ESPN2 Friday Night Fights, as well as the ESPN2 Wednesday Night Fights summer series, Joe Tessitore plays a major role in one of the network’s most successful regularly scheduled programs. He also serves as college football play-by-play commentator, and joined ESPN’s horse racing in team in 2006, hosting the prep races and contributing to the network's Breeders' Cup coverage.  Beginning March 2008, Tessitore joined ESPN’s Arena Football League team as a play-by-play commentator.

Celebrated throughout his career for his knowledge as well as his enthusiasm, Tessitore has covered a wide array of events including Super Bowls, NCAA Final Fours and the PGA Tour.

While Tessitore joined ESPN full-time in May 2003, he spent the better part of two years as part of the ESPN family, filling in on select boxing cards.

The previous eight years, Tessitore made his mark as the Sports Anchor at WFSB TV, the CBS affiliate in Hartford.

Tessitore has been a part of many New England Emmy award wins, as well as garnishing honors for his outstanding sports feature reporting.  He is most proud of the recognition that has come his way from his tireless and generous fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis foundation.

Joe is a graduate of the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.  Early in his career he spent valuable time at WRGB, CBS affiliate in Albany, and KXAS, NBC affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Joe and his wife have a son and a daughter, and reside in Connecticut.
