Boris Said

NASCAR Now Analyst

Joined ESPN:
2007

Boris Said, one of auto racing’s top road racers, joined ESPN as a studio analyst for ESPN2’s NASCAR Now in January 2007.

Said broke into NASCAR racing as a fill-in on road course events, and he quickly established a stellar reputation. He has given advice to more than 25 NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Kasey Kahne and Kevin Harvick, as well as team owners, most notably Jack Roush and Ray Evernham who’ve asked for help in training their young drivers in the art of road racing.

He has run a limited Sprint Cup schedule the past several seasons and has won poles at Daytona and Infineon Raceway.

He has driven in nearly every form of road racing in the United States and abroad. Said was part of the winning team in the 24 Hours of Daytona in back-to-back years (1997 and '98) and was a top performer in the Trans-Am Series.

Said, a former regular in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, made 64 starts in that series between 1995 and 2000, including full seasons in 1997 and 1998. He earned one NCTS victory, at Sears Point, in 1998. In 2004 Said narrowly missed winning the Rolex Series GT championship, tying Bill Auberlen in points, but losing the championship on the most-wins tiebreaker.
