Greg Garber, a senior writer for ESPN.com since 1999, joined ESPN in 1991 and provides reports for ESPN's Sports Emmy Award-winning NFL Countdown, SportsCenter, as well as Outside the Lines. Garber also covers the NFL and the tennis Grand Slams.

For 15 years Garber was a sportswriter for the Hartford Courant, where his duties included investigative features, New York Giants beat coverage, and a weekly NFL column. He received a New England Associated Press News Editor Association award for a 1997 Jackie Robinson special, and an Associated Press Sports Editors award for first reporting that University of Massachusetts basketball player Marcus Camby broke NCAA rules resulting in sanctions against he school. Additionally, in 1990 Garber earned first prize in the 175,000-plus category of the Associated Press Sports Editors Awards for a series on former Nebraska running back Doug DuBose. Garber also received three Pulitzer Prize nominations and is a three-time Connecticut States Sportswriter of the Year recipient.

The author of more than 20 books including End Zone (1987), Football Legends (1988), Great Quarterbacks (1995) and Inside Football. Garber is a 1979 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth (formerly Southeastern Massachusetts University).  Garber lives in Connecticut and is married with two children.
