The lead sports columnist for The Dallas Morning News since 1998 and a frequent panelist on ESPN’s Around the Horn, Tim Cowlishaw has a deep interest in motorsports and has covered it for the Morning News for years. In 2007, he became a NASCAR Insider reporting for NASCAR Now, ESPN2’s daily destination for NASCAR news and information. Additionally, he serves several of ESPN’s multi-media platforms, including NASCAR Countdown, ESPN Radio, ESPNEWS and SportsCenter, as well as provide weekly content on ESPN.com.

Passionate about sports his entire life, Cowlishaw has covered a variety of sporting events since joining the Morning News in 1984. In addition to motorsports, he has covered college basketball, Major League Baseball, the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Stars hockey team and Southern Methodist University athletics.

Before joining the Dallas paper, he wrote for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, the Daily Oklahoman and the San Jose Mercury News.

Cowlishaw has won numerous awards, and was named by Associated Press Sports Editors one of the top five sports columnists in the nation among large-circulation daily newspapers in 2002.

He was graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in communications.
