Dave Campbell serves as a commentator for ESPN's coverage of Major League Baseball. He serves as lead analyst for Major League Baseball on ESPN Radio and he also provides reports for SportsCenter during the playoffs, World Series and spring training. Campbell works MLB playoff games for ESPN Radio and the Triple A World Series for ESPN2.

In 1990, Campbell was a commentator on ESPN's regional Major League Baseball telecasts, before jumping to primary games in 1991.

Campbell played eight seasons in the Major Leagues as a utility infielder with the Detroit Tigers (1967-69), Padres (1970-73), St. Louis Cardinals (1973) and Houston Astros (1973-74).

Campbell served as the play-by-play commentator and analyst for the Colorado Rockies on KWGN-TV (1994-97). In 1993, he hosted the weekly "Baseball Sunday" program on XTRA Radio in San Diego. Prior to that, Campbell was an award-winning radio and television play-by-play commentator for the San Diego Padres on numerous stations (1978-88). In 1988, he was named the "Best Local Play-by-Play Man" by The San Diego Tribune.

In addition to his play-by-play work for San Diego, Campbell hosted "10th Inning," the Padres' post-game call-in show on KFMB-AM (1984-88). He also hosted "Baseball Notepad," a radio show focusing on baseball history (1986-88).

From 1984-89, Campbell also served as play-by-play and color commentator for San Diego State University football and basketball games on KFMB-AM and KSDO-AM. Prior to his work with the Padres, Campbell worked as a sports reporter on KSDO-AM (1976) and KCST-TV (1974-75) in San Diego.

Campbell, a 1964 graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science degree in education, played on the Wolverines' 1962 NCAA Champion baseball team. He is also the inventor of the baseball board game "Xtra Bases."

Born January 14, 1942, Campbell is married with two children.
