Lynne Frank was named Managing Director of Europe, Middle East, and Africa in March of 2005. She is based in ESPN’s London office and reports directly to Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, ESPN International. Frank is responsible for all of ESPN’s businesses in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. As the person responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for ESPN, Frank led ESPN’s acquisition of NASN - the only European channel dedicated to North American sports; cricinfo.com - the world’s leading cricket website and scrum.com – a leading rugby news, features and information portal. Frank oversees the expansion of ESPN Classic Sport, available to more than 22 million households in over 40 countries; ESPN’s channel businesses in the Middle East, Africa and Israel; directs the overall syndication sales effort in the region and manages ESPN’s European headquarters in London. In her role of directing the growth of ESPNsoccernet.com, one of the most popular English-language football websites in the world, Frank oversaw the launch of French, German, Spanish and Italian versions. Prior to ESPN, Frank spent twelve years with Turner Broadcasting System in Europe, serving most recently as Managing Director, European Entertainment Networks. Frank’s diverse portfolio of responsibilities included strategic development, programming, marketing, public relations, on-air promotion, research, licensing, and merchandising of 14 Turner television services, including seven localized versions of Cartoon Network and five versions of Turner Classic Movies. Earlier in her career, Frank served as a Finance Director for Cartoon Network and Turner Pictures. She holds a BA in economics/business from the University of California Los Angeles.
