Tim Bunnell

Senior Vice President, Programming & Marketing
ESPN International


Tim Bunnell was named senior vice president of programming and marketing, ESPN International, in February of 2005. Bunnell shares time between ESPN’s offices in Bristol, Connecticut and New York City, and reports directly to Russell Wolff, executive vice president and managing director, ESPN International.

Bunnell oversees programming, marketing and on-air promotions on behalf of ESPN International, while working closely with the advertising sales and affiliate sales teams for ESPN’s networks in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and the Pacific Rim. Bunnell also coordinates the global programming deals with ESPN’s joint ventures around the world and is responsible for the programming and marketing strategy of more than 90 properties across 30 networks reaching 194 countries and territories. Additionally, he has oversight of ESPNdeportes.com, one of the leading Spanish-language sports Web sites in the U.S. and Latin America. He currently sits on the boards of ESPN Star Sports and ESPN Classic Europe.

Bunnell first joined ESPN International in 1994 as manager of distribution, Americas region. By 1998, he had been promoted to director, where he was responsible for managing programming relationships with affiliates throughout Latin America and Canada. Bunnell joined ESPN Internet Group in 2000, where he oversaw the launch and development of ESPNdeportes.com and managed the reorganization of ESPNsoccernet.com.

Prior to joining ESPN International, he worked as a field producer for WHDH-TV, the CBS affiliate in Boston (1991-‘93). From 1989-’91, Bunnell served as an upper school teacher at the American International School in Vienna, Austria, where he taught courses in modern European history and world literature on the high school level.

A 1987 graduate of Tufts University he has a bachelor of arts degree in English Literature. In 1993, he received his M.A. in International Relations with honors from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He is fluent in Spanish.
